Our focus throughout this course will be on movement, or more specifically, moving yourself to move your story and your readers. You will explore the 10 Ps of picture book pacing & beyond as you explore 40 tools and craft your stories to achieve beautiful results.
Our focus will be in writing to mind, heart and ear while you explore how PACING, (how to speed and slow as needed to bring out your heart scene) relates to awesome writing:
Join me and enjoy a motivating weekly writing lecture on pacing. I've been sharing my pacing study since 2009, but have now slowed this course down to help writers digest it all and really amp up the effectiveness of each delicious word in their manuscript one concept, one technique at a time while offering quality feedback. Like in my GIRAFFE class, you will have the opportunity to ask questions LIVE that will help you further your work.
In this workshop, you will harness the power of action and pause and the page turn and it's importance in moving yourself and moving your reader and story to a whole new level of WOW! I share how to take the ordinary and create extraordinary results! These ten moves will help you enhance the emotional arc of your story as well. Learn how you can immediately incorporate the ten Ps of pacing and watch your word count slip away. This approach has helped so many writers hone their work, there is no doubt it will get your book project the attention it deserves, too.
A lecture a week for 8-weeks, we also gather each week for hands-on "push" activities in a dedicated online classroom format.
If you are a teacher at any grade, this is a great course for you. It will allow you to improve writing in your classroom beyond what you imagined. No matter what grade, there's something for you to transfer into the classroom. Don't miss this opportunity to make this your best teaching year ever.
If you are a writer, you will begin to see many more possibilities in your own writing to really offer readers an unforgettable experience. Come learn more.
If you are an illustrator, you will understand that magical dance between art and words.
We will be dummying in this course. We will push you to explore and challenge your manuscript until it comes together.
