In my role as Executive Editor at Disney-Hyperion, I primarily edit picturebooks (Mother Bruce by Ryan T. Higgins, Soldier Song by Debbie Levy, illus by Gilbert Ford) and middle grade novels (The Door by the Staircase by Katherine Marsh, Smek for President by Adam Rex). The rare YA novel will catch my eye (Wildman by J.C. Geiger, out in June). I love picturebooks with clever characters and inspired/ing art, and connect with middle grade novels that have transporting writing with creative use of language, and characters with inherent motivation and earned agency. I care about every facet of bookmaking: from type to case cover art, and everything in between. I received my masters from Simmons College, Center for the Study of Children’s Literature and love to sew, knit, bake, and catch up on TV shows I missed when they aired.
